The laser at work on a walnut board in the Salisbury workshop

A laser, good wood,
and the time
it takes to get it right

Cutting Edge Creation is a small workshop in Salisbury, North Carolina. Everything we sell is cut, sanded, engraved and finished here.

Our story

Made to order,
not made in bulk

We started the way most workshops start: one machine, a stack of hardwood offcuts and a list of people who wanted something that did not exist yet. A board with a grandmother’s recipe in her own handwriting. A mandala for a hallway that had been empty for years.

That has not changed. There is no warehouse behind this and no mass runs. Every board, ornament and sign leaves this workshop having been cut, sanded and engraved for one person.

Weddings, anniversaries, teams, teachers, memorials. If something matters enough to keep, it is worth engraving properly.

Our mission

Engrave your story with precision, passion and permanence

To turn the things people care about — a photograph, a date, a piece of handwriting — into objects that outlast the occasion, and to be honest about what a laser can and cannot do before anyone pays for it.

Our vision

The workshop people in the Carolinas think of first

To be the place families, teachers, couples and local businesses come back to — not because we are the cheapest, but because the piece arrives looking the way they imagined it, on the date we said it would.

How we work

The same four steps, every time

  1. You send the idea

A photograph, a sketch, a logo, or a description. Anything that shows us what you have in mind.

  2. We quote it honestly

A real price and a real date within two business days — including whether your file will engrave well, and what we would change.

  3. You approve a proof

Nothing is cut until you have seen a layout and said yes. Changes at this stage cost nothing.

  4. We cut, finish and ship

Cut, sanded, sealed and packed here in Salisbury, then shipped insured. Most pieces leave in five to seven days.

What we will tell you before you pay

  • Whether the photograph you sent has enough contrast to engrave well
  • Which wood suits the design, and which one we would avoid
  • The real lead time, including shipping, not a best case
  • When a smaller size will look better than the one you asked for
